Rangaraya Medical College was established in 1958 by the generous donation of M.V.R.Memorial Educational Trust in the memory of late Sri Pendyala Sree Ramachandra Venkata Krishna Rao of Dommeru on whose behalf a major donation of 5 lakhs was made by Mullapudi Venkata Rayudu Memorial Educational Trust. The valiant efforts of col.Dr.D.S.Raju,Dr.M.V.Krishna Rao, Dr.P.V.N.RAJU, Dr.Peri Shastri. The college was inaugurated by late sri Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy Garu the then honourable chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. The state Government took over this institution in 1977. This institution has shown a phenomenal progress in the last few decades which few among younger colleagues in India and abroad can claim the credit. It is not the exaggeration to say that its alumni are already occupying chairs of selection by dint of merit in the competitive fields all over the globe
